About

Chicago, at first dubbed The Chicago Transit Authority, immediately stood out due to their unique, horn-driven instrumentation and top-notch songwriting, a combination that quickly found a home on  free-form FM radio in the late '60s. After 45-plus years in business, Chicago's music has never left the airwaves and the band remains on tour more often than not, playing concerts in every corner of North America. With a catalog of hits  including "Saturday in the Park," "Beginnings," "If You Leave Me Now," "Baby What a Big Surprise," "You're the Inspiration," and "Hard Habit To Break," fans are always eager to snap up tickets to catch one of the most successful American rock bands in history. Four members of the group's current lineup -- vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist Robert Lamm and horn section members Lee Loughnane, James Pankow and Walter Parazaider -- date back to Chicago's formation in 1967. Even today, the band isn't just about nostalgia; Chicago continues to record new singles and albums regularly.

After 57 years, they still know how to ROCK!!

by BandDad on 5/28/24The Louisville Palace - Louisville

27 songs in two sets. Three founding members that have been in the band for 57 years. They know how to put on a show. The song choices were great. Definitely worth it. Good show.

    Chicago never disappoints

by Long time fan on 5/27/24The Louisville Palace - Louisville

My very first concert as a teen in the 1970's was Chicago. I have seen them several times in recent years. 40+ years later, I enjoyed them as much as I did my first time seeing them. They always put on a great show.

    Chicago Concert in Louisville

by Joe Momma on 5/27/24The Louisville Palace - Louisville

There were some sound issues early on, appears they were trying to correct them but a couple microphones still sounded terrible OR someone inexperienced on the sound board? Loved the show except for the poor sound quality issues.

    Concert fantastic!

by John E on 5/27/24The Louisville Palace - Louisville

Loved Chicago and absolutely loved the venue. Architecturally significant and perfect acoustics! Seats were excellent, Orchestra 1, Row AA. Only thing less than stellar were the seeming lack of non-alcoholic refreshments.

One of the most spectacular concerts I have seen this year

by Colonelmike on 5/27/24The Louisville Palace - Louisville

I have been seeing concerts by some of my favorite groups of the 70s this year.........CHICAGO lives and breathes the music like it was the 70s all over. Or the 80s. for that matter. Lee Loughnane. Robert Lamm, and James Pankow - the three remaining original members - play and sing like they were 30 years younger, all while bouncing around the stage in a way this 62 year old wishes he could still do. The "new"(er) members of the group mesh so well......you could almost hear Peter Cetera, Terry Kath, Walter Parazaider and Company still on stage.... How good was it? Repeated standing ovations from the Louisville Palace crowd......the "Make Me Smile - Colour My World"combination was a HUGE hit with the fans and back to back renditions of power ballads "Hard for Me to Say I'm Sorry"and "You're the Inspiration"kept the crowd on their feet. By the time the band played the encore, the fans were already on their feet for good. The vast majority of us in the audience were in our sixties, but the atmosphere had taken us all back to our teen age years and it was an amazing feeling. The band had matured, but they are still every bit the entertainers they have always been, and the musicianship remains top notch. If you ever claimed to be a fan of Chicago, this is a show you have to see this year.

    rockin'

by rb3 on 5/27/24The Louisville Palace - Louisville

Chicago gives and energetic show with talented muscians. A style not heard as much today with a large band of 10 or more insrumentalist and singers with complex harmonies and great arranging skill. It did take the first half to really dial in the sound, lead singers were hard to hear at first. They took a 20 min. intermission but still played 2 hours if you stayed for both enchores. Chicago takes you back when the greatest way to hear and see a band was live.
