MOD. AKO is dead, but a new one has risen from the ashes. As we all know, AKO has died. A moment of silence for a site that was pretty useful. . . . . However, a new site has arisen. Last spring when AKO started showing the announcement pop-up, it basically said units need to move all of their stored files off of AKO, and figure out a solution on their own. Many units have replicated much of the functionality to share points, share drives, and Teams. There is no Army-wide replacement for AKO. 1.
as a 25b, former isso, and j6 employee, i'd just love it if one dod website had a signed certificate ever. im tired of clicking 'duur i trust this connection' because the g6 can't issue and sign a certificate once every five years.
AKOffline is shutting down do to a policy that I have been informed that the site is in conflict with. Pending any changes, the site will go offline on October 1st. Rip AKO 1998-2021. RIP AKO2 2021-to like two days later. Armylinks.com still works on nipr (for now) G6 really wants to image that last Windows XP computer.
